FIND YOUR TRIO
Find Your Trio is a fun party game for adults that takes 30-45 minutes.
It will get everyone out of their seats, mingling with all the other players and talking to strangers. It's great to:
- Liven up a stuffy work do with a fun team building activity.
- Play with a large group where not everyone knows each other.
- Play at a party to simply have fun.

Alternative party game for 6-9 players
For small groups of 6-9 players, it's pretty easy if players know they're looking for two or three trios, therefore I've invented some alternative rules for a game called Find Your Valentine.
This is essentially the same game but with a misleading twist in the rules and a smaller set of cards to print.
FIND YOUR TRIO: FOR 8-32 PLAYERS
SETTING UP THE GAME
- Print out the game and cut up the cards (for small groups, you won’t need to print every page).
- Every player needs one card and must be part of a group.
- Groups should be obvious (e.g. Rock, Paper, Scissors).
- If you have a multiple of three (9,12,15,18,21 or 24 players) ignore the groups of four and choose whichever groups of three you think will be most fun.
- For non-multiples of three, include one or two of the groups of four.
- There are also some blank cards at the end if you’d like to add your own trios (or feel D'Artagnan really needs including as the fourth musketeer).
INTRODUCING THE GAME
- Print out two copies of the rules and put them somewhere obvious.
- Read out the rules first, then
- Randomly deal players one card each.
- Say “Find Your Trio!”
- Step back and watch the
chaosfun.

RULES FOR 8-32 PLAYERS
WINNING
- You win by finding the other two (or occasional three) members of your trio.
- The game ends when everyone’s found their trio.
- Some cards have the group on them, for others, you have to figure it out. For instance, if you have “The Good”, you’d be looking for “The Bad and “The Ugly:

QUESTIONS
- Ask each other one or two questions about who a player is, then move on.
- Every question must have a Yes / No answer.
- NEVER repeat a question in the whole game.
- You can return to the same person later as often as you like.
CAPTURING
- If you hear a player asking a question with your Capture Word in it, you capture them.
- Synonyms aren’t allowed but parts of words are (So “Write” means you can capture anyone saying “Write”, “Writer” or “Writing” but not “Author”).
- Captured players become your servant.
AS A SERVANT…
- Answer every question as if you’re the master, starting with “My master is…”
- You can only ask questions on behalf of your master, to help them find another member of their trio.
- Servants you own or capture now serve your master.
- You can be captured by a new master and change hands.
You earn your freedom when your master finds another member of their trio.

FAQ
Can I play as the host?
Absolutely! Even though you’ll know your trio, it’s still fun to figure out who they are. It's also fun to watch, if you'd prefer to just enjoy it.
Is it a drinking game?
It's not a drinking game, but is simply enough that adults who are drinking can easily follow all the rules.
Can I add extra trios?
Yes, there's an empty sheet in the version for large groups so you can print out your own cards.
What are some ideas for other trios?
If you add any new trios, make sure everyone will know them.
This could be three pubs in your village, three countries players are from, recent books you've read in book club, or anything else that connects you.
