Marti follows the road to Egypt

Marti follows the road to Egypt is a beautifully illustrated picture book for children about an alien called Marti who is looking for his friend.

He lands on Earth, but doesn't know where he is! As he explores the area in his Mopper (a flying spaceship) he discovers that he is in Egypt.

The original story, aimed at 4 - 6 year olds was written by Michele Carter-Buxton, who created the 'Letter Roads' concept. The children's book was illustrated by Allison Carmichael and published in the UK by Happy Pegs Ltd.

Letter Roads

Letter Roads are a series of roads in the shape of the letters from A-Z that help children learn to read. As children drive their cars over the A3 letter mats, they learn the alphabet in the process, while having fun and not really thinking about it. Marti Follows the Road to Egypt is based on the same idea.
